The Pastoral Staff Team
The Pastoral Team at Willowgarth have provided a caring service for many years. They are also classroom teachers and lead busy lives. The Pastoral Office and the Duty Office are now on line to the Internet, Barnsley Intranet, and the Willowgarth Intranet. The efficiency of this already excellent section of school life will be further increased. This group of people are responsible for the welfare and discipline of pupils in the year group; assemblies; pupil records and reports; individual guidance with options; consultation with parents and support agencies; liaison (transfer) with college and feeder schools; Compact; references and co-ordinating the work of form tutors.
Miss Vosper came originally from Plymouth in Devon. She was educated at Public Secondary School, which was a city centre school. She remained there until 1977 when she moved to Sheffield Polytechnic to study Physical Education. Once qualified in 1980, she began working at WHS under the headship of Mr. David Trotman. In 1986 she became the Head of P.E. and was involved in running all of the extra-curricular activities. Aside from teaching P.E., she has been involved in the P.H.S.E. department teaching Careers and Sex Education. The 'highlight of her career' was when she appeared with a number of people on 'Look North' discussing the differences between Sex Education in Britain and Holland. For the past 4 years she has been heavily involved in the Pastoral Department and is currently Head of Year 7 for 2005-06.
