Below is a guide to the support services on offer to all pupils at Willowgarth High School between 12:05pm and 1 pm in the Pupil Support Room. Back to top
►Mondays
The BARN, a young people's drug and alcohol service have a worker on site to provide advice, information or support to anyone concerned about his or her own or someone else's drug or alcohol use. Young people can be seen at the school or at an alternative venue if necessary. Appointments can also be offered out of school hours. The service is totally confidential. ►Tuesdays
On Tuesdays three nurses are available - Ann, Andrea and Jean. School nurses are qualified Registered General Nurses, who have a special interest in children. They offer support through counselling, health promotion, family planning, asthma management, substance misuse, continence and parenting. Back to top
►Wednesdays
The Junction Project offers a drop in specifically aimed at young males. The service will give young males the opportunity to discuss health or other issues with another man. Referrals to the appropriate service will then be arranged.

►Thursdays
The NSPCC Schools Counselling Service offers a confidential service to young people in school, to support them as they work through any difficulties and/or issues that are important to them as individuals. Individual appointments can be made to see Mariya on Mondays when she will be in school all day. These can be made either through the drop in or by referral through the school. Back to top
►Fridays
The YOUNG PEOPLE'S HEALTH PROJECT offers a confidential service to young people within school and at The Acorn Centre in Grimethorpe. Ann offers advice, information and support on health issues including smoking, alcohol, sexual health, diet, physical activity and many others. She is also available for activities after school and during the school holidays.

►Other Services
The NSPCC Integrated Learning Community Project is based at the Acorn Centre offers a wide range of Study Support Activities and support the role of the Befrienders in school. See the Befrienders page on the web site. Lots of courses and craft activities are available throughout the week - Monday & Thursday in the Befrienders area, Wednesday in the School Library plus other sessions after school in Grimethorpe and Cudworth.
