Pupil Involvement
Pupil Reception Duty
Willowgarth pupils in Year 9 are responsible for reception duty to ensure that visitors to Willowgarth are made to feel welcome and can be easily identified. All tutor groups in the year take part. Form tutors nominate two pupils per day. Pupils are given a brief talk on the role and responsibilities of the receptionists. Each tutor group will 'man' the reception area until all pupils have been given the opportunity to have at least 1 full day on reception duty.
This duty is seen as a privilege and pupils who misbehave or have a poor punctuality or attendance record will not be encouraged to take part (although the final decision is left with the form tutor).
Pupils are expected to be polite and courteous throughout the day.
Pupils will have to provide themselves (in consultation with their subject teachers) with appropriate work.
Pupils are expected to give a positive image of the school and will be neatly dressed in full school uniform.
Pupils will be advised to communicate clearly with visitors and act in a responsible manner at all times.
Visitors will be asked to complete an evaluation sheet (only I per day). All pupils taking part will be awarded a special commendation, which will be kept in their RoA file.
